Eureka Tower, Melbourne, Australien

At around 300 metres, this – the highest building in Australia – provides an impressive landmark for the city of Melbourne. Its 565 apartments distributed over 92 storeys also make it the highest residential construction in the world. A total of 11 storeys have been given over to parking, retail outlets and office units.

The building’s summit takes the form an observation deck with public areas and restaurants. It is renowned for its elegant design and its golden colouring, chosen to capture the full glory of the sun’s rays. The styling was created by the Melbourne architectural practice Fender Katsalidis, whose extraordinary work has rightly earned the highest recognition. In particular, their high-rise building designs for both private and commercial usage have garnered a number of prestigious awards. The Eureka Tower is located in the middle of the Southgate district directly adjacent to the river Yarra, the Southbank Promenade, the Artists’ Quarter as well as the Crown Entertainment Complex.
