The Girona-Costa Brava Airport has gone through a substantial increase in traffic in the last few years, going from just a simple charter flight airport for summer tourism to a modern airport where many low-cost European airlines are hosted.
In 2002, a giant remodeling was undertaken that built a new passenger terminal with a surface of 27,274 m2 with three floors, keeping in mind that for 2015 there would be 1.78 million passengers per year.
Inside the decoration has integrated the Banyoles stone, yellow ocher and greenish gray of the outside woodwork and benches.
Among the furnishings included in the remodeling there are 21 automatic doors, among anti-panic doors and conventional runners supplied and designed by DORMA.
