MBB Gelma Security Fair Highlight

XS reader fitting in off-line and radio versions for simple door retrofitting

Ennepetal. With criminals tending to take ever greater risks in the acquisition of data, documents and office hardware, more and more companies are equipping their offices with access control devices. When those offices are expanded, or moved to other premises, the question then arises as to how additional doors may be effectively retrofitted and how the access control systems can be flexibly adapted.

Offering a solution to the specific problems that arise, MBB Gelma will be showcasing at Security 2004 a new reader fitting, available as both an off-line and a radio variant, that has been specifically developed to facilitate retrofitting – and both versions can be integrated within existing MBB Gelma/DORMA systems.
XS fittings, like all the other terminals in the system, can thus be amalgamated with the existing database and used on the basis of the same ID transponders or swipe cards. This eliminates the need for parallel employee data management in a separate system.

The new XS reader is based on the renowned DORMA IBL fitting, and in its off-line version functions as a stand-alone access control terminal that independently checks the access authorisation of the ID. In this mode, the XS system is able to handle up to 2,000 ID codes. more…

With a choice of either the off-line mode or radio remote control, the readily retrofittable XS reader fitting from MBB Gelma is the ideal solution to meeting the security requirements of growing organisations. The off-line version can be easily converted to radio mode by simply plugging a radial module onto the original PCB. The system can be combined not only with standard lever handles but also with the full range of bespoke OGRO fittings.
